Rexfelis
The enigmatic Cat Lord, a quasi-deity of felines, stealth, curiosity, freedom, and independence.

Overview
Rexfelis, sometimes referred to as the Cat Lord, is a quasi-deity of the World of Greyhawk with deep ties to felines, stealth, freedom, and independence. Though not a traditional member of the Oeridian pantheon, he is sometimes honored or recognized among them, particularly by rogues, wanderers, and feline-affiliated individuals or races.
Description
Rexfelis is a powerful quasi-deity associated with cats, stealth, curiosity, and independence. He appears in various forms, most commonly as a charismatic humanoid feline, blending traits of panthers, lions, or domestic cats depending on the region and the viewer. He is aloof and enigmatic, much like the creatures he represents, and often interacts with the mortal world through emissaries.
In human form he always wears black clothing decorated with gold and gems of feline colors. He has a muscular, compact form, and his eyes are feline in whatever shape he takes.
Relationships
Rexfelis maintains loose associations with powers of nature, trickery, and travel, such as Olidammara, Ehlonna, or Fharlanghn, but he is not considered a formal ally of any deity. He is known to oppose tyranny and domination, especially from gods like Hextor or Vecna, whose agendas threaten free-willed beings.
He is neither fully good nor evil, instead acting as a cosmic agent of balance through mischief and predatory grace.
Realm
Rexfelis is said to dwell in the Beastlands, a plane of untamed wilderness and natural beauty. His personal demesne, often called the Twilight Den, is a shifting region of shadowed trees, ruined temples reclaimed by nature, and endless twilight where felines of all types roam freely.
It is rumored that every cat’s soul, upon death, first walks the paths of his realm.
Dogma
The Cat Lord is neither good nor evil, but is concerned solely with the welfare of cats. He travels between the Outer, Inner, and Material Planes in order to watch over his charges, leading them out of danger and sometimes assuming the leadership of feline prides—killing their previous leaders out of cold necessity.
Freedom is paramount. Rexfelis teaches that every creature must walk its own path, free of shackles—be they societal, divine, or arcane. Stealth, patience, and cunning are not vices but virtues to be honed. His faithful are encouraged to embrace curiosity, move unseen, and never let themselves be caged, physically or spiritually.
“Strike when ready, vanish when needed,” is a common tenet.
Worshippers
Rexfelis is revered by:
- Rogues, bards, and shapeshifters
- Wizards with feline familiars
- Tabaxi, lycanthropes, or anyone bound to feline spirits
- Individuals in wild lands who venerate natural cunning and independence
Clergy
Priests of Rexfelis are often called Whispers or Shadowpads. They rarely wear formal robes, instead donning loose, dark clothing suited to stealth, often adorned with feline motifs.
Most are wanderers, acting more like sacred spies or silent guardians than temple-bound clergy. They may serve as protectors of cats, informants in cities, or solitary monks living in the wild.
Rituals
The Night Purr
A vigil held under the new moon, in silence, as cats gather around.
Nine Lives Offering

The Silent Leap
