Tamily Tanderveil

Halfling proprietor of the Salty Net & Fishery Hall whose missing stores led the first Storm Tide adventurers into the forgotten passages beneath Seaton's Cove.

Tamily Tanderveil

Overview

Tamily Tanderveil is the halfling proprietor of the Salty Net & Fishery Hall in Seaton’s Cove .

Practical, capable, and accustomed to keeping a busy fishery hall running, Tamily became directly involved in the earliest events of the Storm Tide Campaign when something began disturbing the stores beneath her building.

What first appeared to be a problem with missing saltfish eventually exposed forgotten passages beneath Seaton’s Cove, a kobold warren, and a young green dragon.

The Salty Net & Fishery Hall

The Salty Net & Fishery Hall is Tamily’s place of business in Seaton’s Cove.

The building’s stores include preserved fish and other supplies connected with the local fishing trade. Nearly a month after the earthquake that struck the town, Tamily discovered that something was getting into those stores from somewhere beneath the building.

Saltfish had been disturbed. Supplies were being damaged. Whatever was responsible did not appear to be entering through the Fishery Hall itself.

Rather than wait for the problem to grow worse, Tamily began looking for people willing to investigate.

That decision set the first expedition of the Storm Tide Campaign in motion.

When something began getting into her stores, she sought help. When the adventurers returned with news of kobolds and a dragon beneath the town, she immediately recognized that the matter was no longer simply hers to handle.

The First Call for Adventurers

Tamily’s request for help brought together four newly fledged adventurers:

Their task sounded simple.

Something was getting into Tamily’s fish.

The investigation began in the basement of the Salty Net, where earthquake damage had opened a breach into forgotten spaces beneath the building.

The adventurers soon discovered that the disturbance was not a simple infestation. Giant rats had begun using the opening as a feeding ground, and beyond them lay a much larger underground complex beneath Seaton’s Cove.

After the Dragon

When the adventurers finally returned to the Salty Net, they brought news far worse than anything Tamily had expected.

The passages beneath her cellar contained dangerous creatures, kobolds, and—deeper still—a young green dragon.

Tamily was relieved that the adventurers had survived, but she quickly understood that the discovery represented a danger to the entire town.

The problem could no longer remain confined to the Fishery Hall.

Tamily decided that Mayor Oseph Menhemes and the other people responsible for the safety of Seaton’s Cove needed to hear the adventurers’ account directly. The following day, she gathered the group at the Salty Net and accompanied them to the Menhemes estate for a council concerning the threat beneath the town.

Role in the Campaign

Tamily occupies an important place in the beginning of the Storm Tide Campaign.

She is not a ruler, soldier, scholar, or mystic. She is a local business owner who recognized that something was wrong and did something about it.

Her missing stores provided the first reason for the adventurers to descend beneath Seaton’s Cove. Her decision to bring their discoveries before the town’s leaders helped turn a private problem beneath one building into a matter affecting the entire community.

Because of that, the Salty Net & Fishery Hall remains closely tied to the origins of the adventuring company that would eventually become known as the Protectors of the Cove.
