Morlibint
Wizard and proprietor of Odd Stories in Seaton's Cove, known for his broad reading, unusual knowledge, and willingness to dig through old books when the campaign's mysteries demand answers.

Overview
Morlibint is a wizard and the proprietor of Odd Stories, a book shop in Seaton’s Cove .
Exceptionally well read and possessed of a broad range of unusual knowledge, Morlibint is the sort of person adventurers seek out when a problem may have an answer buried somewhere in an old book.
He is intensely curious, even when the subject of that curiosity frightens him. News of kobolds beneath Seaton’s Cove was disturbing enough; learning that a green dragon lived below the town terrified him. Even so, once the initial shock passed, his curiosity took over and he eagerly joined the search for useful information.
Odd Stories
Odd Stories is Morlibint’s book shop in Seaton’s Cove.
The shop reflects its proprietor’s interests: books, unusual accounts, obscure subjects, and the sort of written material that may be overlooked elsewhere. Morlibint’s collection is not the same as the scholarly holdings of the Hall of Illumination, but that is part of its value.
Where a formal library preserves recognized histories and respected works, Odd Stories may contain something stranger, more specialized, or simply unexpected.
For adventurers dealing with unusual creatures, forgotten lore, strange magic, or obscure historical questions, Morlibint’s shelves can be worth investigating.

Quirks
Morlibint’s fear and curiosity often seem to compete with one another.
A dangerous revelation may initially horrify him, but once he realizes there is something to investigate, the scholar in him quickly takes over.
The Search for Answers
After the adventurers reported discovering a young green dragon beneath Seaton’s Cove, Vandy Banderdash brought Hugo Baudelaire and Haldir Sorenson to Odd Stories.
Hugo already knew Morlibint and regarded him as an exceptionally well-read man whose broad and unusual knowledge might prove useful.
Morlibint’s reaction to the news was immediate. Kobolds beneath the town were troubling enough. A green dragon terrified him.
Fear, however, did little to diminish his curiosity.
He agreed to search his own collection and bring anything useful he discovered to the Hall of Illumination, where Vandy, Hugo, and Haldir were conducting a broader investigation.
For the next three days, Morlibint worked through his books while the others searched the Hall’s library.
The Emerald Chronicles
Morlibint’s research produced one of the three books that became central to the investigation:
The Emerald Chronicles: Stories of Heroism Against Green Dragons
by Chronicler Roderick Stonehelm
Together with the other works uncovered during the search, the book helped the adventurers build a clearer picture of green dragons—their behavior, preferred lairs, defenses, and methods of attack.
The research did not make the dragon beneath Seaton’s Cove less dangerous, but it gave the party information they did not possess during their first encounter.
A Useful Observation
Morlibint also drew the spellcasters’ attention to one potentially important possibility.
A green dragon’s hide is extremely tough, making some forms of attack difficult to land effectively. Morlibint suggested that spells requiring direct contact might have a better chance of affecting the creature, because they could avoid the problem of first overcoming its tough hide.
It was not a solution to the dragon problem, but it was exactly the sort of detail that could matter when preparing for another confrontation.
Role in the Campaign
Morlibint serves as one of Seaton’s Cove’s sources of specialized knowledge.
He does not occupy the same role as Vandy Banderdash or the scholars of the Hall of Illumination. His usefulness comes from the breadth and sometimes unusual nature of what he has read and collected.
When the adventurers encounter something strange and suspect that the answer may exist in an obscure book, old account, unusual tale, or forgotten piece of lore, Odd Stories is a natural place to investigate.
Morlibint may not always have the answer.
But he is usually interested in helping look for it.
